Bob Dylan (left) and Willie Nelson share The Amp's stage on July 1. |

The iconic Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson visit The Amp tonight for a 7:30 p.m. performance. Both musicians released albums earlier this year, and some tickets to the show are still available.
Despite his sometimes standoffish stage presence, Bob Dylan continues to draw hoards of fans from multiple generations. The fact that his latest release, "Together Through Life," received mostly favorable reviews contributes to the iconic folk master's popularity. In fact, the album reached number one in the Billboard 200 chart in the U.S., making Dylan, who is 68, the oldest artist to debut at the top of this chart.
Apparently, Dylan's still got it.
Earlier this year, Nelson released a compilation, "Naked Willie," and as long as the album title isn't foreshadowing of an unconventional stage show, the tea leaves predict a stellar peformance.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Marcus Amphitheater. Tickets are $59.50 for the red section, $49.50 for the yellow section and $37 for bench seats. Free lawn seats will also be available the day of the show.
OnMilwaukee.com staff picks for July 1:
I'm reviewing the Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson show at the Marcus Amphitheater tonight. Even though I wasn't blown away by Dylan's new album, "Together Through Life," I'm looking forward to the show. I grew up listening to his classic stuff, and it's always great to see the original Willy. (Milwaukeeans, of course, think of someone else when they hear the name "Willie," so around these parts one must differentiate.) --Molly Snyder Edler
As the youngest member of the OnMilwaukee.com concert review crew, I knew there was no way I'd be able to snag the Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson concert at the Amp tonight, but I recommend you all try to get to it nonetheless. --Julie Lawrence
I'm 1 for 3 with Bob Dylan, who headlines the Amphitheater with Willie Nelson.I've seen three shows -- one bad, one mediocre and one unforgettable.Since Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers aren't backing him this timearound, I'll be happy watching Pat McGee play a 4 p.m. set at the Miller Lite Oasis and then just drifting around.--Drew Olson
Hands down, Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson show at the Amp is the big winner of the Big Gig. I've heard from enough people that a Dylan show can either be great or terrible, but it's worth the risk. And Willie ... you've gotta love Willie. --Andy Tarnoff
Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson combine for the only Marcus Amp show that really intrigues me. But having already seen Dylan on an bad night, I'm still a little leery that the Dylan I want to experience simply doesn't exist anymore. --Bobby Tanzilo
