No Surprise

As you all are well aware, Tim McGraw has already been booked as a headliner for the Big Gig 2010.

When I read this in the newspaper several weeks ago I let out an agitated shout and smacked my forehead in disbelief.

We have barely shaken off the bad memories of Bummerfest 2009 (except for mmathu: he still dreams of watching teen boys at the Spoon show) and already next year's version has shown itself to be a trainwreck in the making.

Yet why am I surprised by this booking? If it appeals to the beer-swillin', BBQ-chowing, Harley-ridin', blue collar job -workin', Packer lovin', bowling league playin' Miller Brewery employees, then Summerfest has the goods.

Everyone else be damned.
